An essay is, generally speaking, a written piece that present the author’s argument, but often the exact definition is very vague, frequently overlapping with that of an article, a book, a newspaper, a pamphlet, and a short story. Essays are traditionally been categorized as formal and creative. In recent years, essays are now far more flexible in their categorization.
